Wholecloth Feather Bars plus
Sunitha Santharam, IndiaHouse of Creations patterns
94.5" square
Sunitha's sister had won an award from the government in India and Sunitha wanted to make something special to commemorate it.
She wrote saying that she had a wholecloth in mind - did I have any suggestions?
Well it was something I had been considering for some time, so I took up the challenge. Sunitha was very new to quilting, so she requested instructions as well (in particular, she had never done free-motion lines before).

This is Sunitha's practice quilt done in cotton - just how wonderful. She is going to do her gift in silk - how exciting will that be!
To give you some idea as to how a silk quilt might turn out - the pillow sham (cover) illustrated - is done in silk, it is just so luscious!
Sunitha sent through some photos of her quilt in progress and I was so inspired that I decided to go ahead and make one myself (urgently) for my son's wedding. (I had already made a Queen sized quilt - but very belatedly I found out that they had a King sized bed!)
So thank you Sunitha for your inspiration - my son and his wife now have one of these.
