This quilt was the result of playing with hour-glass blocks made from 5" charm squares.
Two pairs of hour-glass blocks were put together 4 patch style, and then four groups of these larger blocks were again put together 4 patch style with a narrow sashing in between.
The width of the wide sashes were such that additional hour-glass blocks could be used as cornerstones.
The obvious presence of cross-hatching helps give a very traditional feel to this quilt - without it being obtrusive.
